Genshin Impact has gained global popularity since its global release last September.

The game offers heaps of playable content, with the open world of Teyvat holding lore and treasure waiting to be uncovered. As players take the Traveler through their journey to find their lost sibling, they often find little novelties that the game has to offer. One of the most interesting aspects of the game are the world bosses who drops the talent level materials for our characters.

Dvalin is one of the boss monsters you’ll come across in Genshin Impact, and arguably the most majestic of all of them.

Also known as Stormterror, Dvalin is an Anemo Elemental Dragon and one of the four winds of Mondstadt. He is one of Venti’s close friend who together once fought against the Black Dragon, Durin. During the battle, he was poisoned by Durin’s dark blood but with Traveller’s help, he was healed.

To appreciate his amazing lore along with the work that went behind the scenes of production here are some lesser-known facts about Dvalin, the Anemo Dragon.

Otto observing Dvalin on the Imaginary tree

Dvalin is the first character to canonically appear in the Honkai Impact 3rd. He can be seen during the last cutscene of Chapter 17: Thunders Over Nagazora” where Otto Apocalypse can be seen observing different worlds on the imaginary tree. This confirmed that the two games are connected.

For the unfamiliar, in Honkai Impact 3rd the Imaginary Tree is the very centre of life, death, time and reality. Time flows through its trunk and each branch is a world in itself. It is believed all Mihoyo’s games Fly Me to the Moon, Girl Gauken Z, Honkai Impact 3rd and Genshin Impact are all different leaves connected through the tree.

Just like Azhdaha, Dvalin is a pure elemental being born from the convergence of pure Anemo elemental energy up in the Heavens. This is mentioned in the Volume of Breeze Amidst the Forest.

“The story to be told hails from ancient times, when the gods walked among us in their prime.” The dragon graced by Anemo was born in the high heavens in that age of wonders. He slowly descended, and inspected everything with curious eyes.

Dvalin was once part of Four Winds, a faction that consists of four entities that the Anemo Archon, Barbatos, entrusted the safety and protection of Mondstadt to before he disappeared a thousand years ago. They are represented in Mondstadt with symbols on roughly each associated side of the city.

The Dragon of the East symbol representing Dvalin can be seen above the side entrance to Mondstadt, which is the furthest east side of the city.
