After the long wait our favourite Maxed defence goofball Bofuri has returned with the second season of BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, So I’ll Max Out My Defense.

For the unaware “BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, So I’ll Max Out My Defense” also popular by the name “Bofuri” in short, is a popular isekai-fantasy anime which follows the titular character Bofuri who is scarred of getting hurt, opts for a shield class and spends all her stats points to max out her defence making her basically untouchable and the strongest in the game.

The show is based on the light novel series by Yuumikan and illustrated by Koin which started serialization in 2017 and currently running on its 15th volume. In Japanese, the series is published by Fujimi Shobo publications, while the English publication is handled by Yen Press. A manga adaptation by Jirō Oimoto is published in Comp Ace magazine since 2018 spanning over 6 volumes.

Similar to the first instalment, Bofuri Season 2 will be animated by Studio Silverlink with Shin Oonuma and Mirai Minato returning as the series directors with Fumihiko Shimo handling the script writing. Kazuya Hirata is drawing the character’s designs along with Taro Masuda who provides the music.

Episode 1 of Bofuri Season 2 is scheduled to release on January 11, 2023, at 11:30 PM JST and is confirmed to run for 12 episodes with a new one releasing every Wednesday.

The second season of Bofuri will pick up from where we left in the first season which covered the first four volumes of novels. The next season will begin with adapting the fifth volume which Yen Press describes as:

The new episodes of Bofuri Season 2 will first premiere first on AT-X followed by other Television networks like ABC, Tokyo MX, BS11, and TVA. Japanese viewers can also enjoy the show online at AbemaTv and Anime Store.
