Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is now available in Netflix India

Demon Slayer was one of the most impactful and controversial release of 2019, thanks to its stunning visuals and animation, or the stellar soundtracks or beautifully written story itself. And now that the most of the world is under lockdown, it might be a great time to watch this series as Demon Slayer: Kimetsu is now available on Netflix in most parts of Asia including India and the subcontinent.

Netflix is offering the all 26 episodes from season 1 in which you can watch in original japanese audio with English subtitles. Unfortunately, there has yet to be any word of English dub release as of this writing.

The story takes place in Taishō-era Japan, where Tanjirō Kamado who is a kindhearted and intelligent boy lives with his family. He has become his family’s sole source of income after the passing of his father. Everything changes when his family is attacked and slaughtered by a demon.Tanjiro and his sister Nezuko are the sole survivors of the incident, with Nezuko being transformed into a demon, but still surprisingly showing signs of human emotion and thought. After an encounter with Giyu Tomioka, a demon slayer, Tanjirō is recruited by Giyu to also become a demon slayer to help his sister turn human again and avenge the deaths of the rest of his family.

The series already has manged to break multiple records including One Piece’s record for the most copies sold within Oricon’s fiscal year with a total of 38.191.494 copies, 31 weeks before the year is completed. The previous record was held by One Piece with 37.996.373 copies in 2011.

Thee anime also won awards including Crunchyroll’s Anime of the year, Funimation’s Anime of The Decade and Best Tv Anime award at TAFF. In a recent survey the anime series was voted as the most favorite anime of all time by Japanese viewers.

Demon Slayer:Kimetsu no Yaiba is a battle action shonen manga written and drawn by Koyoharu Gotouge. The manga is published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump since February 2016. Viz Media is publishing the manga in English digitally and in print. The manga has 19 compiled volumes in circulation.

Studio Ufotable produced a 26- episode anime adaptation which aired between April 6 to September 28, 2019. A sequel anime film Demon Slayer: Infinity Train is under production and is scheduled to premiere in 2020.
