Food Wars:Shokugeki No Soma Season 5 was previously delayed because of the rise of COVID-19 in Japan. It was said that the new release date for the series will be announced shortly.

Today the official website and twitter handle of Food Wars! Shokugeki No Soma Fifth plate announced that the Series will be further delayed till july 2020.
Just to make it clear no it is not confirmed that the anime will come back in July 2020. The press release only stated that the show will be postponed till July and whether it will come back in or after July will depend on the COVID-19 situation in Japan.

Plot Of The Series
Ever since he was little, Soma Yukihira’s main goals have been to beat his father in a cooking contest and take over the family diner. That’s why, when his dad suddenly announces that he’s shutting the restaurant down and sending Souma to cooking school, Souma is shocked.
