Based on the novels written by Light Tuchihi, Full Dive: This Ultimate Next-Gen Full Dive RPG Is Even Shittier than Real Life! (Also known as Kyuukyoku Shinka Shita Full Dive RPG ga Genjitsu Yori mo Kusoge Dattara in Japanese) is an ongoing anime which is quite a hit among fans. Moreover, it is written by the same author as Cautious Hero, so it already had a strong fanbase looking forward to the anime adaptation. Media Factory is publishing this light novel under their MF Bunko J imprint with illustrations drawn by Youta.
A manga adaptation with art by Kino has been serialized in Media Factory’s seinen manga magazine Monthly Comic Alive since January 2021. Every week the series continues to entertain it’s viewers with its peculiar style of humour and twists.
Now, let’s breakdown what has happened has so far in the anime:
Reona explains the game, Kiwame Quest, was designed to be totally realistic, so there is no restarting from the beginning. Reona suggests Hiro get help from Ginji, a player who also killed his best friend NPC, Enrique. Hiro realizes being a murderer has gameplay disadvantages. Alicia reappears and Reona explains Alicia is a skilled knife user and most players make her a permanent teammate, but having killed Martin, this option is unavailable.
Reona, who is invisible to NPCs, attacks Alicia’s eyes, allowing Hiro to log out. Hiro’s friend advises him bullies might leave him alone if he stops playing games and make more friends. Logging back in, Hiro finds Ginji, a middle-aged drunk who reveals he killed his best friends, not realizing his actions were irreversible, and after ten years of gameplay, he still has not won.
As their characters are based on their real bodies, he advises Hiro to learn martial arts in real life. He also tells him about the one player who won the game, Kamui the Eternally Invincible, Never Bested Adventurer. Then, claiming it will help, Ginji removes Hiro’s disguise and exposes him as the wanted murderer.

Storyline Of Full Dive RPG Anime
In an unexpected turn of events, dull high school student Hiro Yuuki obtains the full dive role-playing game Kiwame Quest. Created by the best of technology, the game claims to take “reality to its extremes,” from stunning graphics, NPCs’ behaviour, to the scent of vegetation, and even the sensation of wind brushing against the skin—everything was the result of ultimate workmanship. Except, the game is a little too realistic and messy to clear. Kiwame Quest features over ten quadrillion flags and reflects the players’ real-life physical abilities in the game. Being hit in the game also hurts in real life and slash wounds take days to heal.
