Update: The God Of High School New Trailer And Release Date Has Been Announced

We aren’t even halfway through the spring hit series Tower of God and another one of Crunchyroll original is already gearing up the hype among the fandom.

Crunchyroll recently debuted a new trailer for God of Highschool anime with its summer release date. They also shared details regarding key staff members and main cast members.

Animation-wise the above trailer looks impressive which is to be expected when you have an action-heavy director like Park Sunghoo and is backed by a experienced team of animators at Mappa. Meanwhile Kakegurui‘s Manabu Akita is drawing characters designs for animation.

The main cast members who were includes:

  • Tatsumaru Tachibana as Jin Mori, A sixteen-year-old whose taekwondo, which he learned from his grandfather, makes him undefeatable.
  • Ayaka Ohashi as Yoo Mira, The 25th Master of the Moon Light Sword Style. She pretends to be a fragile high schooler, but she has the strength to easily overpower an entire group of delinquents in a fight.
  • Kentaro Kumagaia as Han Daewi One of the “Mad Cows,” a duo that once controlled the entire Gangnam area. He’s been working part-time jobs to pay the medical bills for his partner in the duo, who fell ill with an incurable disease, but the part-time work available to high schoolers is barely enough to cover the daily medical bills and won’t cover a cure. He joins GOH after being told that he can save his friend if he wins.

God of Highschool anime is slated to release in July 2020. A specific date is yet to be released but now that a trailer to God of Highschool has finally been launched, it is just a matter of time before the exact release date is announced.

God of Highschool is your typical battle shonen anime which can be easily called the “Dragon Ball of webtoons”. Crunchyroll describes anime based on Webtoon by Yongje Park as:

“This action-packed series follows a high schooler and his friends as they compete in an epic tournament God of Highschool. Borrowing power directly from the gods and uncovering a mysterious organization along the way… With the promise of their heart’s deepest desires, motivating their tournament victory.”
