Anime for years has been used as a medium to bring life to new things and music is no stranger to it. The medium has spawned many popular shows surrounding music whether it be idol shows like the Zombieland Saga or IdolMaster or a romantic tale told through music like the Your Lie In April, Kono Oto More or some simple down to life like K-ON. Mashiro no Oto is one such upcoming music-based anime which will premiere this Spring.

Mashiro no Oto or also called “Those Snow White Notes” is an upcoming anime which centres around Sawamura Setsu, the grandson of prodigy Shamisen player (a traditional Japanese instrument similar to Guitar). After the death of his brother and grandfather, he drops out of Highschool and wanders off doing nothing but his life begins to change when his rich mother storms back into his life.

The Episode 1 will premiere tomorrow and will run from March 3 to June 19, 2021, for 12 episodes. A new episode will be released every Saturday at 2:25 am JST.

Where to Watch Online?

Viewers in the USA and Canada can watch the show on Crunchyroll and VRV in its original Japanese dub with embedded English dub. It is also available on AniPlus for most of the South-East Asian countries. It is currently not available on Netflix though, but we are hoping they will license the show once it will finish Broadcasting.

How many episodes will it have?

It has been confirmed that Mashiro No Oto TV anime will run for a total of 12 episodes starting from April 3 to June 19, 2021. A new episode in the series will be released every Saturday at 2:25 am JST.

When the Mashiro No Oto English Dub will premiere?

There is no official confirmation of whether or not Mashiro No Oto will receive an English dub or not. However taking into account the fact that Crunchyroll is streaming the anime, who are doing a lot of simuldubs of their new shows such as ‘God of Highschool’, ‘I am a Spider so What?’, it is relatively safe to say that an English dub will be announced very soon.

Shamisen is a traditional Japanese musical instrument that looks similar to a guitar. Teenager Sawamura Setsu’s grandfather who raised him and his older brother Wakana, recently passed away. His grandfather was one of the greatest Shamisen players and the two siblings grew up listening to him play and learning to play the instrument.

Since their grandfather’s death, Setsu dropped out of high school, moved to Tokyo and has been drifting, not knowing what to do besides play his Shamisen. That’s when his successful and rich mother, Umeko, storms into his life and tries to shape Setsu up. She enrolls him back into high school, but little does Setsu know that he is about to rediscover his passion for Shamisen.
