It also Excellence Award at the 16th Japan Media Arts Festival Awards. The series was nominated for the 23rd Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize in 2019. It was nominated for the 4th Manga Taisho and it was number three on the 2012 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! Top 20 Manga for Male Readers survey.

Meanwhile on Myanimelist received a positive rating of 7.7 with 24k members and is currently ranked #1154.

Mashiro no Oto Season 2 Release date

Mashiro no Oto is yet to be officially renewed for season 2, but if it does get a new season, then it most likely will air in late 2022 since season 1 aired from April 3 to June 19, 2021, and it usually takes around 1-2 years to create a new season.

What will happen in Season 2?

A new stage opens with new friends as he moves on to the folk song bar Take no Hana. Setsu still struggles to find his own sound, and he also has difficulties adjusting to other players’ songs. Then, another shamisen player who used to compete with Setsu comes to Take no Hana! Will Setsu be able to overcome his doubts and the trials coming his way.
