After months of wait and anticipation, we finally have an update on the Blu-ray/ DVD release of My Hero Academia: World Heroes movie.
My Hero Academia: World Heroes is the third original movie inspired by the popular shonen anime. The news came from AnimeTv’s official Twitter handle. The tweet reported that the My Hero Academia: World Heroes will release on Blu-ray and DVD on February 26, 2022, in Japan next year.
The film opened in Japan on August 6, 2021, and earned a total of $40 million. Funimation screened the movie in the United States and Canada on October 29, 2021, and opened at #1 at the US Box office.
Author Kohei Hirokoshi provided the story concepts, designs and supervised the project at Studio Bones. Kenji Nagasaki directed the film with scripts by Yōsuke Kuroda and character designs by Yoshihiko Umakoshi.
Funimation describes the movie as such:
“When a sinister organization threatens to wipe out all superhuman powers, the fate of the world is on the line. After two hours until the collapse of civilization, Deku, Bakugo, and Todoroki manage to work as a team, but there’s still one problem. Deku’s on the run for murder.”
