Animation Studio Doga Kobo, the studio known for creating a multitude of wholesome slice-of-life anime, announced on Wednesday that they are animating Shiro Manta’s My Senpai is Annoying (Senpai ga Uzai Kōhai no Hanashi) manga into a TV anime.

The official announcement came through a twitter account launched to announce the anime adaptation and celebrate the 1 million copies in circulation.

Manga author Shiro Manta went to twitter and shared his thoughts on the project.

Seven Seas who digitally publishes the full-color manga in English describes its story as such:

Igarashi is a hardworking young office lady. Takeda, the senpai above her at work, annoys her constantly–and yet she finds herself growing closer to him. Every day is filled with comic mishaps and romantic moments as Igarashi tries to balance work, life, and love. This full-color manga–which started its life as a webcomic–is sure to charm audiences of workplace comedies like Aggretsuko and The Office!

Written and drawn by Shiro Manta, My Senpai is Annoying is a full-color Japanese manga serialized in pixiv Comic website under comic Pool web magazine banner since 2017 and has published four compilation volumes so far. The series also won the web manga division of the Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Awards in 2018.
