This month lots of anime series and films were either postponed or cancelled due to the spread of COVID-19 Coronavirus. Today, we have another two big titles “ONE PIECE” & “Digimon Adventure” joining the queue. As Toei Animation announced in a press release that they will be suspending the anime series.
Toei Animation stated in the press release:
- Due to the state of emergency in Japan caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we have carefully considered the safety measures for the spread and have decided to suspend the simulcast and Japanese broadcasting of both “One Piece” & our new series, “Digimon Adventure:” for the time being. Updates on the return of both series will be provided as soon as we know. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. Please stay safe and healthy.
New Release Date
Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe has announced that they will be expanding the state of emergency nationwide till May 6 due to the rise of COVID-19 Coronavirus cases in japan. So, nothing can be said with certainty about the return of the anime for now. The information related to the return of both series will be announced when decided.
About Digimon Adventure 2020 Reboot
Digimon Adventure 2020 is a reboot to first Digimon Adventure Television anime which aired in 1999 followed by Digimon Adventure 2 in 2000-2001.
Toei Animation is producing the 2020 reboot with Masato Mitsuka as director. Atsuhiro Tomioka (Inazuma Eleven, Pokémon, One Piece, Beyblade Burst) is credited with script supervision. Original Digimon Adventure‘s Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru returns to draw character designs.
Plot Of One Piece
Gol D. Roger, a man referred to as the “Pirate King,” is set to be executed by the World Government. But just before his demise, he confirms the existence of a great treasure, One Piece, located somewhere within the vast ocean known as the Grand Line. Announcing that One Piece can be claimed by anyone worthy enough to reach it, the Pirate King is executed and the Great Age of Pirates begins.
Twenty-two years later, a young man by the name of Monkey D. Luffy is ready to embark on his own adventure, searching for One Piece and striving to become the new Pirate King. Armed with just a straw hat, a small boat, and an elastic body, he sets out on a fantastic journey to gather his own crew and a worthy ship that will take them across the Grand Line to claim the greatest status on the high seas.
