One Punch Man is a very popular hard-core superhero action manga which is an adaptation of the original webcomic by ONE (also drew Mob Psycho 100) and is drawn by Yusuke Murata of EyeShield 21. We are now nearing the end of the Garou Arc/ Monster Association arc confirmed by Murata himself.

In the latest chapter, we witness the rawest and most serious version of Saitama ever. Just before the Garou and Saitama’s fist collides, Bang opens a dimensional gap to stop the gigantic energy to some other space and save the planet. Bang succeeds in doing thanks to his allies in other dimensions, however, due to the recoil of thier attack they ends up on one of Jupiter’s moon.

Garou is surprised to find himself in such a strange environment and asks Saitama if they must find a way to return to Earth. However, who is so pissed seeing his disciple’s core and heart in his hand torn from his body by the monster in front, he simply replies with “that can come after I beat the shit out of you”. The two starts fighting again in which they almost destroy the crust of the moon.

Previous Chapter Recap

Garou and Saitama land on Io, the moon closest to Jupiter in orbit; as Garou gathers himself from the surprise of landing on a moon, Saitama makes use of the strange situation, believing he can now go all out. He tries to put Genos’ core in his suit but decides to hold onto it, should the suit be torn. When Garou tries to tell Saitama that they must find a way to return to Earth, the hero cuts him off and claims “that can come after I beat the shit out of you”, directly challenging the monster. Surprised by his seriousness, Garou opens a gateway beneath Saitama.

Saitama quickly kicks away the portal from his feet and hurls a punch, sending Garou hurtling. He opens another gate behind the hero to hit him, but Saitama grabs the edge and flips it down, exposing Garou for another punch and knocking him back out onto the surface. Saitama mocks his “little tricks” and asks for Garou to use his fists. The cosmic monster responds that the techniques of countless school used as one are “his fists”.

Opening numerous gateways to surround Saitama for an attack, Garou speeds through them all and barrages him with his techniques. He uses Roaring Aura Sky Ripping Fist, followed by Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist, which is joined by Exploding Heart Release Fist, before using Whirlwind Iron Cutting Fist, mercilessly pummelling the hero. Garou ends his assault with Nuclear Fission Gravity Knuckle, causing a huge explosion that decimates Io.
