With Attack on Titan and My hero academia Hollywood live action in works, another popular series will be joining them as One Punch Man Hollywood live action movie is said to be reportedly under development.

Reported by Variety, Sony is developing a live action movie based on Yusuke Murata’s One Punch Man. Fans can be at ease as the Venom and Jumanji writers Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner are writing the scripts for the film.

Moreover the live action adaption will be brought to the life by Arad Productions, known for their work on Spider-man movies, X-men and Ghost in the Shell adaption, which confirms that the company is well-versed in terms of superheroes movies. Also variety reported that the Sony is cautious on the property given its immense popularity.

There is no word on when this project will release or the production will begin. Over time, we expect to hear more on the adaptation and we will continue to update this article with relevant information.

One Punch Man is a manga written by ONE and drawn by Yusuke Murata, published in Shueisha’s Tonari no Young Jump since 2012. The manga is based on the webcomic written by ONE. Viz media is publishing the series in English.

Manga inspired an anime series by Studio Madhouse in 2015 for 12 episodes. J.C. Staff then produced a second season in 2019 which also ran for 12 episodes.

The story centers around Saitama who started out being a hero just for fun. After three years of “special” training, he became so powerful that he can defeat opponents with a single punch. Now, alongside Genos, his faithful cyborg disciple, Saitama is ready to begin his official duties as a professional hero working with the Hero Association.
