Crunchyroll has been streaming anime for more than a decade and is a renowned name in the anime industry. Now Crunchyroll is playing the same move as Netflix with there own Crunchyroll Originals. Back in 2019, their General Manager announced they will bring anime adaptation of popular Manhwa/Webtoon.

Crunchyroll later revealed that the popular Manhwa/Webtoon “The God Of High School” the story of Jin-Mori will be getting an anime adaptation under their “Crunchyroll Original” banner along with Tower Of God and Noblesse Anime.

The God Of High School Release Date

The God Of High School by Yongje Park is considered one of the most popular Manhwa out there. It was recently confirmed that the Crunchyroll Original anime adaptation of The God Of High School will release in July 2020. The exact date is yet to be declared, we might some update regarding that in the first or second week of June.

Where To Read The Webtoon/Manhwa?


The anime will be adapting the same story as the Manhwa. The protagonist Jin Mori is invited to a Martial Arts tournament called “The God Of High School” organized by a secret corporation. They conducted a tournament on the regional level and then on the national level inviting high school students from all over the country. Their goal was to find the top 3 contest ent for the international tournament and the contestant how wins the tournament will get his wish granted by the organization, no questions asked.

Jin Mori fights through different levels and with contestants having a distinct fighting style. Not only martial arts, but contestants also fight using something called borrowed power which is a power granted to a person by Gods, Demons, and other mythical creatures. He also befriended Swordswomen called Yoo Mira and Full-Contact Karate expert called Han Daewi after there fight during the tournament.

Where To Watch The God Of High School

As we already now that G.O.H is a “Crunchyroll Original” anime. So, they will be exclusively streaming the anime. However, there are many free anime streaming platforms that are available. But, we don’t support piracy in any way for form, you should watch it on the official website and support creators.

Episode 1 Spoilers

Park Mu-Bong is introduced talking on the phone with Prosecutor Gang. Angry at how the conversation went, Mu-Bong uses his charyeok to destroy the island Gang is on, thus killing him.

Jin Mo-Ri is shown winning a fight, furthering his unbeaten streak to 299 fights. Judge R appears to invite Mo-Ri to participate in the G.O.H. Tournament after Jin Mori’s fight. Mori ignores Judge R until Judge R displays his strength. Mori challenges Judge R to a fight, seeking a stronger foe, but is beaten almost immediately.

Han Dae-Wi is introduced as a constantly tired boy that works two jobs to pay for the hospital bills of his terminally ill friend, to his friend’s chagrin. It is not until he is pushed to the edge by bullies at his school that Dae-Wi displays his strength and gets invited to the G.O.H. Tournament by Judge Q.

GOH New Trailer

If we take a first look at the trailer Mappa Studia(they are also working on the new Attack on Titan Season 4, Jujutsu Kaisen Anime and Zombieland Saga Revenge) has done a really good job if we talk about animation with those vivid animations. We can see many important characters like Jin Mo-Ri, Han Dae-Wi, Yu Mi-Ra, Park Il-Pyo, Taek Jae-Kal, and Jeon Ju-Gok in the new trailer and get a closer look at there fighting style.

About The God Of High School

The God of High School is a South Korean web manhwa written and illustrated by Yongje Park. It has been serialized in Naver’s webtoon platform Naver Webtoon since April 8, 2011, with the individual chapters collected and published by Imageframe under their Root label into one volume as of April 2020. The series also received official English translations by LINE Webtoon in 2014.
