The entertainment industry has been hit hard by the recent pandemic, with the COVID-19 outbreak spreading across the World, anime and manga industry is no exception from it. Major shows like Oregairu Season 3, Sword art online Alicization: War of Underworld Part 2 have shift their broadcasting to next season. And the latest to join the ever increasing list is The Promised Neverland Season 2 as it has been officially delayed.
The reveal came through anime’s official twitter account where they said that The Promised Neverland Season 2 release date has been delayed to January 2021.

Yakusoku no Neverland: The Promised Neverland Season 2 New Release Date
According to official website, The Promised Neverland Season 2 will now premiere in January 2021. The second season was originally scheduled to release in October 2020. A specific date has yet to be released for the series’ return. As a placeholder first season will be rebroadcast. The season 1 first premiered on January 11, 2019 which ran for 11 Episodes.
Yakusoku no Neverland Season 2 Plot
The first installment adapted the initial two arcs, Introduction Arc and Jailbreak Arc. The new season will adapt the “The Promised Forest Arc” picking up from the nail-biting cliffhanger they left us at.
After successfully escaping the orphanage with most of children, Emma and Ray ventures into a world which is unknown to them. While bring pursued by demons, Ray and Emma struggles to lead the children to safety while doing through the dangerous dark forest when a mysterious woman and man appears. The Promised forest arc is the third manga arc which runs from chapter 38-52.

The Promised Neverland is a Shonen manga written by Kaiu Shirai and drawn by Posuka Demizu is Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. Viz Media is publishing the series in English, digitally and in print.
Manga inspired an anime series by A1 pictures which ran for 12 Episodes in January 2019. A live action adaptation is set to release in December 2020.
