Another highly anticipated sadly has joined the ever increasing lists of canceled shows the Quintessential Quintuplets Season 2 Release date has been delayed.
The Quintessential Quintuplets Season 2 delayed announcement came from anime’s official twitter account where they shared a statement that the second season will now premiere in January 2021. Here is the above mentioned tweet.

Why Gotoubun no Hanayome season 2 is delayed?
In April 2020, due to concerns over spread of COVID-19 , Japan implemented a state of emergency till May 31. This heavily affected the ongoing productions of multiple studios and subsequently theirs broadcasting. The staff members including animators and voice actors aren’t able to do meet at the studio to finish the production. Also many studios outsource several parts of production to studios located in China, South Korea which are also hit hard by the ongoing pandemic. As a result studios are forced to shift their broadcasting to next season.
What is Gotoubun no Hanayome season 2 new Release date?
The first season which was produced by Tezuka Productions premiered on January 10, 2019 and ran till March 28 on TBS and other channels for 12 episodes. In February, it was announced that the long-awaited to sequel the 5Toubun anime was scheduled to release sometime in October 2020 titled as Quintessential Quintuplets ∬.
According to the official website Quintessential Quintuplets Season 2 is now scheduled to release in January 2021. Bibury Animation Studios will produce the new season with Kaori as director and Keiichiro Ochi returning as series composer. It is just one of several anime which has been cancelled like Oregairu Season 3, new Sword art online:Alicization season, The Promised Neverland Season 2.
Quintessential Quintuplets Season 2 Plot/ Summary
For those who are familiar with the series let me do a quick catch up. The anime revolves around High school prodigy Futaro Uesugi who is an academically gifted student that but leads a difficult life. His mother has died, he has no friends, and on top of all that, his father has incurred a large amount of debt.
However an opportunity presents itself when the rich Nakano family transfers to his school. Futaro is promptly hired as a highly-paid tutor. However, much to Futaro’s dismay, he discovers that his five charges. Identical quintuplet sisters of varied personalities — have no interest in studying at all and have abysmal grades. Some of the quintuplets are against having Futaro, whom they view as a stranger, in their apartment, but Futaro’s diligent tenacity gradually convinces those girls to accept him and to improve their grades.
Throughout the series, Futaro develops special relationships with each of the quintuplets. Through a flashforward, it is revealed that he eventually marries one of the quintuplets, though her identity is not revealed until near the end of the story.
Now in the upcoming season Quintessential Quintuplets Episode 13 will pick-up from where they left us in the first season. The new season will begin with a flashback arc where Futaro is hospitalized and the five sisters visits her. Fuutarou tells Itsuki a story about a young girl from 5 years ago. Strangely enough, Itsuki owns an item similar to the one in the story, which she obtained from the same place and time frame.
The manga recently ended and the new season is expected to adapt the source material upto the quintessential Quintuplets ending which will finally answer many questions like who is the Futaro bride, with who does Fuutarou ends up with, who wins and many more.
