The Bandai Namco stream of Fuse’s That time I got reincarnated as a Slime announced on March 22 that Shiba’s spin-off manga The Slime Diaries: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Tensura Nikki Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken) is inspiring an anime adaptation. The Slime Diaries anime will premiere in Winter 2021.
The Slime Diaries is a gag manga set in the world of isekai megahit That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime! It tells the everyday lives of Rimuru and other characters in this hilarious spinoff series.

The stream shared a promo trailer with first look at the spin-off anime. The art style has been changed and looks flat compared to main series. Risa Takai and Atsushi Irie are providing character designs.
The Slime Diaries: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime release date
The Slime Diaries anime is set to release in January 2021. Unfortunately the stream didn’t mentioned the exact release date. However you can expect its first episode to premiere in first week of January. Still, the present scenario of the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak is still a concern. Possibilities do exist that the release may take even further time. Anyway, let’s hope things won’t get worse, and everything falls in place.

Cast, Studio and Staff
Yuji Ikuhara, the CG producer of the main series is directing the new anime at 8-bit Studio with Tsutomu Kasai as assistant director and Kotatsumikan as script supervisor. R.O.N is composing the music for The Slime Diaries: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. All cast members are returning from main series to reprise their original roles.
