Shamans are extraordinary individuals with the ability to communicate with ghosts, spirits, and gods, which are invisible to ordinary people. The Shaman Fight—a prestigious tournament pitting shamans from all over the world against each other—is held every five hundred years, where the winner is crowned Shaman King. This title allows the current incumbent to call upon the Great Spirit and shape the world as they see fit.

Finding himself late for class one night, Manta Oyamada, an ordinary middle school student, decides to take a shortcut through the local cemetery. Noticing him, the alone boy sitting on a gravestone invites Manta to stargaze with “them.” Realizing that “them” refers to the boy and his ghostly friends, Manta flees the terror. Later, the boy introduces himself as You Asakura, a Shaman-in-training, and demonstrates his powers by teaming up with the ghost of six-hundred-year-old samurai Amidamaru to save Manta from a group of thugs. You befriend Manta due to his ability to see spirits, and with the help of Amidamaru, they set out to accomplish You’s goal of becoming the next Shaman King.

Where Can I Watch Shaman King Online?

Shaman King’ reboot episodes will be available on Netflix Japan with Japanese audio and subtitles. The streaming platform will release the episodes with Japanese audio and English subtitles for its international audience on a later date

With Shaman King listed with 52 episodes, it is assumed that the series will be split into two or four parts on Netflix similar to Pokemon Journeys of 13/26 episodes each. We expect the first part to release in August 2021.

Moreover, we insist that you support official sources and avoid piracy websites as it harms the creators. But, if the anime is not officially available in your country, many unofficial websites will be streaming the anime.

How Many Episodes Will It Have?

It has been confirmed that the 2021 reboot Shaman King anime will run for a total of 52 episodes which will run from April 1, 2021, to March 25, 2022, for 52 episodes. A new episode of the series will be released every Friday at 5:55 am JST.

When English Dub Of The Anime Will Be Coming Out?

There is no confirm news about the English dub version of the anime. However, we should take into account that Netflix is streaming the anime and all of their anime have English dub anime. Moreover, being such a popular anime series its chances of getting an English dub are very high. Fans are hoping that Netflix will bring back the original cast from 2001 anime.

Will The Anime Come to Crunchyroll, Funimation?

Most likely no. It is very rare for a Netflix licsensed anime to appear on any other streaming service.

Shaman King 2021 Reboot Anime Key Visual

Shaman King is an upcoming anime based Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hiroyuki Takei. The manga was originally serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shounen Jump magazine from June 1998 and August 2004 and was compiled into 32 volumes.

It received an anime adaptation by Studio Xebec which ran for 64 episodes from July 2001 to September 2002. A reboot TV anime by Studio Bridge which will adapt the whole manga premiered in April 2021. The series has inspired multiple spin-offs including language release of the Shaman King’s spin-offs Shaman King: Zero, Shaman King: Flowers, Shaman King: Super Star and Shaman King: Red Crimson.

In the world of Shaman King, people with the ability to communicate and fight with spirits are collectively known as Shamans. The series is centered around Asakura Yoh, a laid-back, easygoing character who is heir to the powerful shamanic Asakura Family, as he enters the Shaman Tournament, a semi-millennial event that draws shamans from around the world to compete for the chance to become the Shaman King and the wielder of the omnipotent Great Spirit. In the process, Yoh befriends and makes rivals of other characters, and gradually learns of the true nature of the Shaman Tournament, and his connection to Asakura Hao, the favorite to win.
