This Winter season has a lot of new and sequel anime are coming out and it will be hard to keep track of the release dates of each one of them. For those who don’t know, Tokyo 24th Ward is an upcoming sci-fi themed action anime which takes place on a mysterious island called 24th Ward and follows the group of three friends Shuta, Ran, and Kuki. The episode 1 of Tokyo 24th Ward is scheduled to release on January 6, 2022, and is confirmed to run for 12 episodes with a new one releasing every Thursday at 12:30 AM JST. The premiere episode will be a special double-length episode.
Studio Cloverworks who is also working on two big titles this season – “My Dress-Up Darling” and “Akebi’s Sailor Uniform” is animating the series. It will be directed by Naokatsu Tsuda, with Vio Shimokura writing and overseeing the series’ scripts. Shuji Sogabe and Kanako Nono are together designing the characters and Takahiro Kishida adapting those designs for animation. Meanwhile, Hideyuki Fukasawa is providing the series’ music composition.

Luckily for the viewers in the USA and Canada, the show is available on Funimation and Crunchyroll, the two mainstream streaming services. The series is also available on VRV through Crunchyroll thanks to AT&T.
Also if you are currently residing in Japan then you can stream the show on Amazon Prime Japan.
It is also available on Wakanim in France, Denmark, and Russia. Amazon Prime Video also acquired the license to stream the show in Japan. However it is currently not available on Netflix though, but we are hoping they will license the show once it will finish Broadcasting.
The episodes will first air on local channels in Japan and then will arrive on these streaming platforms within 1-2 hours.
When the English Dub for Tokyo 24th Ward Anime will premiere?
There is no official confirmation of whether or not Tokyo 24th Ward will receive an English dub or not. However taking into account the fact that Funimation is streaming the anime, which are known industry for their simuldubs and the popularity of the show in English-speaking countries, it is relatively safe to say that an English dub will be announced very soon.

Synopsis for Tokyo 24th Ward
The Far Eastern Special Administrative Region, also known as the 24th Ward, is a man-made island that sits in Tokyo Bay. Shuta, Ran, and Koki were born and raised on the island. Their family backgrounds, preferences, and personalities are completely different, but they are childhood friends who have always stuck together. However, one incident changed their relationship forever.
A year afterwards, the three friends are reunited by chance at a memorial service held for the incident. All three of their phones suddenly ring simultaneously. Their friend, who is supposed to be dead, is calling and demands that they make a decision about the future. The three friends do what they believe is best to protect the 24th Ward and its inhabitants.
