Fans around the globe are very excited for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, the next installment in the massive Ubisoft series, which is coming to multiple platforms, including PS5 and Xbox Series X, starting on November 10. This time around the game sees you take the role of Eivor, a Viking who has arrived on English shores.
To commemorate the game’s release in Japan, Ubisoft has launched a special Viking collaboration between “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla” and Makato Yukimura’s “Vinland Saga” manga.
It is said that this collaboration was realized from the common point that both Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Vinland Saga have the theme of Viking in the Dark Age of Europe and are based on a world based on historical facts.
Under this collaboration a 7-page crossover manga drawn by Yukihara has been posted on the thier official website which you can read from here.
Also an orginal Assassin’s Creed Valhalla short-story manga drawn by him will be published soon on thier websites in coming days. It will be available in 9 languages including English. In addition to it, a collaborative illustration is being produced by the creative team of UBISOFT Montreal, which is scheduled to be released in early November.
Moreover Yukimura will also appear as a guest in the upcoming “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla” x “Game Sanpo” section, in “UBIDAY 2020 Online” scheduled to be premiere October 24 at 19:00 pm 19:00 JST where he will talk about this collaboration and we will see him play the game and hear various stories from Vikings from him.
About Vinland Saga
Yukimura launched the series in Japan in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2005, but was moved to Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon magazine later that year. Animation studio WIT adapted the same into a 24 episode anime in 2019.
Set in 11th century Europe, Vinland Saga tells a bloody epic in an era where violence, madness, and injustice are inescapable, providing a paradise for the battle-crazed and utter hell for the rest who live in it.
The series centers around Thorfinn the son to one of the Vikings’ greatest warriors, but when his father is killed in battle by the mercenary leader Askeladd, he swears to have his revenge. Thorfinn joins Askeladd’s band in order to challenge him to a duel, and ends up caught in the middle of a war for the crown of England.
