The anime industry has been hit hard due to spread of COVID-19. Multiple shows include Oregairu Season 3, Food wars Season 5 have already been delayed and latest to join the club is Digimon Adventure’s 2020 Reboot.
Toei announced on Monday that the ongoing broadcast of One Piece and Digimon Adventure 2020 has been delayed to prevent the spread of noble coronavirus.

The official announcement came with the following statement,” Due to the state of emergency in Japan caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we have carefully considered the safety measures for the spread and have decided to suspend the simulcast and Japanese broadcasting of both “One Piece” & our new series, “Digimon Adventure:” for the time being. Updates on the return of both series will be provided as soon as we know. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. Please stay safe and healthy.”
Digimon Adventure 2020 Episode 4 New Release Date
Unfortunately as noted in the statement the release of DigimonAdventure 2020 Episode 4 and other upcoming episodes has been pushed back until further notice. The staff will announce the new release dates once it has been decided. The fourth Episode was originally scheduled to air on Sunday, April 26. The 20th anniversary reboot premiered on April 5.
Plot
The new anime takes place in 2020 and features an all-new story centering on Taichi Yagami when he is in his fifth year in elementary school. His partner is Agumon. The story begins in Tokyo when a large-scale network malfunction occurs. Taichi is preparing for his weekend summer camping trip when the incident happens.
Taichi’s mother and his younger sister Hikari get stuck on a train that won’t stop moving, and Taichi heads to Shibuya in order to help them. However, on his way there, he encounters a strange phenomenon and sweeps him up into the Digital World along with the other DigiDestined.
About Digimon Adventure 2020 Reboot
Digimon Adventure 2020 is reboot to first Digimon Adventure Television anime which aired in 1999 followed by Digimon Adventure 2 in 2000-2001.
Toei animation is producing the 2020 reboot with Masato Mitsuka as director. Atsuhiro Tomioka (Inazuma Eleven, Pokémon, One Piece, Beyblade Burst) is credited with script supervision. Original Digimon Adventure‘s Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru returns to draw character designs.
