Fire Punch Anime Reportedly in development

If you enjoy reading Chainsaw man then get ready cause its author Fujimoto’s previous work Fire Punch is set to receive an adaptation. According to YonkouProductions, a reliable source of anime announcements, a television anime based on Fire Punch is currently in development.

So far no official announcement has been made so it will better to wait for some concrete proof from its publisher Shueisha or author himself. Additional details such as release date, trailer, cast and staff is expected to be announced in coming months. No official media regarding its anime adaptation has been released yet but here is a animated promotional trailer by Viz Media.

If done right, Fire Punch can prove to one of the most edgy and chaotic mess you ever have watched. It explores the themes of dystopia, incest, religion, revenge in apocalyptic world of “blessed” people.

For those who don’t know Fire Punch is a dark apocalyptic manga written by Tatsuki Fujimoto’s which ran in Shueisha’s online manga portal ShonenJump+ from April 1, 2016 to January 1, 2018. They compiled its individual chapters into eight volumes which all are available on Viz Media.

Viz Media describes its first volume as such:

“Orphaned siblings Agni and Luna, like the Ice Witch who cursed their world, are two of the “blessed,” humans who hold special abilities. However, not all who are blessed are friendly, and after another of their kind attacks Agni and decimates the orphans’ village, Agni fights to survive, vowing revenge.”
