As per the schedule by VIZ, Kaiju No. 8 chapter 23 is scheduled to release on January 22, 2021, at 12:00 AM JST. A new chapter in the series will be released every Thursday. The chapter was originally intended to release on January 15, but was delayed back a week as the author is currently busy doing the final touch-ups on volume 2.

In this week’s Kaiju No. 8 chapter, all the squad members came together to celebrate the completion of their first official mission and the discharge of Iharu and Reno.
During the party, it was revealed that Haruichi, who is the son of Izumo Tech. Izumo Tech which holds a monopoly in anti-kaiju weaponry and armor production. Also, Kafka has been promoted to the rank of an officer due to his immense knowledge of Kaiju anatomy.

It most likely is linked with the incident that happened during her childhood when she escaped with Kafka.
