All of our favorite Cute horse girls are back this season with Uma Musume Pretty Derby Season 2 and fans couldn’t be happier. The second season was announced back in September 2020 during a Livestream event featuring the staff and voice actors. Back then Cygames confirmed that Studio Kai will be replacing P.A. Works from last season so you might notice a bit of change in art and animation.
The series will premiere on January 5, 2021 and a new episode in the series will released every Monday at 12:00 am JST.

Where to watch online?
Crunchyroll and VRV have acquired the rights to stream the second season in the USA and Canada. As for the fans in Asia they can watch season 2 on the Aniplus website. You can find both the first season of Uma Musume series from 2018; and the recent Umayon spinoff at Crunchyroll.
How many episodes will it have?
It has been confirmed that the second season will run from January 5 to March 30, 2021, for 13 episodes if no breaks are taken during the broadcast.
Uma Musume Pretty Derby Season 2 English Dub Release
For those who like watching anime shows in English, the bad news is that Uma Musume: Pretty Derby does not have an English dub yet despite the show’s popularity among Western audiences. However, this does not rule out the possibility of an English dub being made in the future, especially if the show’s popularity increases in the West. For now, however, if you want to watch the show, you have to watch the original Japanese version with English subtitles.
What is Uma Musume Pretty Derby about?
Uma Musume Pretty Derby is a multimedia franchise created by Cygames. The series has inspired a manga adaptation by S. Kosugi currently running on Cycomics website. An anime adaptation by Studio P.A. Works premiered in April 2018 which aired in 2018. A spin-off anime television series adaptation based on the spin-off by Jet Kuma Umayon aired from July 7 to September 22, 2020. An upcoming gacha mobile game for Android and IOS smartphones is scheduled to release on February 24, 2021.
The series takes place in a world very much like our own, great racehorses of the past have a chance to be reborn as “horse girls”—girls with the ears and tails of horses as well as their speed and endurance. The best of these horse girls go to train at Tokyo’s Tracen Academy, hopefully moving on to fame and fortune as both racers and idols.
Special Week, a high school horse girl from the countryside, has just transferred to Tracen, and she’s determined to fulfill her promise to her mother to become the best horse girl in Japan. On her way to school, she takes a pit stop at the race track and instantly falls in love with Silence Suzuka’s style, becoming determined to race on the same team as her.
