The forthcoming Danmachi Season 3 has been delayed following the spread of COVID-19 in Japan.

The official website and twitter account to Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? TV anime announced on Saturday that the broadcasting of Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru no Darou ka Season 3 is postponed. The Danmachi Season 3 release date now has been rescheduled to October 2020. The third season was originally scheduled to premiere in July 2020.

The decision was taken due to effect of Noble Coronavirus on production and distribution of the series. Japan has been state of lockdown past one month which was lifted just this week. Also studios often outsource minor cuts and in-betweens to studios located in China and South Korea which no longer are working due to same.The website also confirmed that they will announce a new premiere date once it has been decided.

The upcoming season will begin with adapting the ninth volume of novel series which adapts Xenos Arc. It follows Bell as he reaches the new location in the dungeon known as the Large Tree Labryinth. There he meets the dragon girl Wiene. Unable to speak and hunted by both Humans and monsters, Bell decides to protect the poor lonely girl.

The staff at J.C. Staff and the original cast members are returning for third season. Rina Hidaka is joining the cast to voice Wiene, who appeared at final episode of season 2. Yuka Iguchi is also returning to perform the opening and ending theme songs for third season.

About Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou

Written by Fujino Omori with illustrations by Suzuhito Yasuda Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?)is a Japanese light novel series. The story follows the exploits of Bell Cranel, a 14-year-old solo adventurer under the goddess Hestia. As the only member of the Hestia Familia, he works hard every day in the dungeon to make ends meet while seeking to improve himself. He looks up to Ais Wallenstein, a famous and powerful swordswoman who once saved his life, and with whom he fell in love.

J.C. Staff adapted the same into a 13 episode anime Series in 2015. Both two seasons and anime movie is currently streaming on Crunchyroll. Season 1 also available on Netflix. They also also animated the Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Sword Oratoria spin-off Nobel by Omori into a anime series which premiered in April 2017.

The story also inspired a Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?:Arrow of Orion anime movie which was screened in Japanese theaters on February 15 2019. Yen press is publishing the English Release of Original novel along with the spin-off and respective manga adaptation.
