List of Anime Spring 2020 which have finished their production and are safe from delay or cancellation.

Many highly anticipated anime releases this Spring, were delayed due to ongoing COVID-19 coronavirus. Due to lockdown implemented in Japan, voice actors aren’t able to visit studio for voice recordings. Also studios have instructed animators to work from home. Due to which multiple shows like Oregairu Season 3, The Promised Neverland Season 2 and latest Sword art online season had to shift their broadcasting to next season and movies like Detective Conan and Evangelion 3.0+1.0 screenings were been cancelled.

Not only but shows like Digimon Adventure 2020, Millionaire detective, black clover were forced to halt their ongoing broadcasting. But some shows managed to finish their production before lockdown and now are safe from any delay or cancellation. Here is the list of spring 2020 ime which have completed their production and are safe from being delayed.

1. My next life as a Villainess

The official twitter account to My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! announced on February 16 that they have finished the production, where they shared a photo which was presented at end of production party. The series premiered on April 4 and is listed with 12 episodes.

2. Ascendence of Bookworm Season 2

On May 5, Ascendence of bookworm director Mitsuru Hongo confirmed that all 26 episodes have been completed. He also mentioned that the second season was already pushed forward from its originally planned schedule “due to various issues.” It premiered on April 4 and so far 18 episodes has been released.  

3. Tower of God

Some animators who worked on Tower of God on subcontractual basis confirmed that the animation production was already finished before it premiered. No words on other aspects of production including voice recording, pre-air editing. The series premiered on April 1, and is listed with 13 episodes and next episode will be out on May 6.

4. Kaguya-Sama: love is war Season 2

On April 16, one of animators working on Kaguya-Sama Season 2 said that “only a little work remains” on its completion which is now expected to be finished. The second season premiered on April 11.

5. Sing “Yesterday” for me

Sing “Yesterday”for me character designer Junichirō Taniguchi confirmed that the production has been finished. Animated by Dogo Kobo, the anime premiered on April 4.

6. Arte

Arte confirmed on April 1, that its production has been finished. The anime premiered on April 4 and so far 5 episodes has been released.

7. Brand new Animal

In February, BNA confirmed that the work on first 11 episodes has been finished. The first six episode were exclusively released on Netflix Japan in February.
