As of April 2023, My Isekai Life Season 2 doesn’t have a release date as it is not confirmed yet. However, if a new season is confirmed, it will likely air sometime in mid-2024 or late-2024.
This is cause the first season premiered from July 2022 to September 2022 and it typically takes around 1-2 years to produce a new season.
As of now, no official announcements have been made yet, hence the readers need to keep in mind that these are just speculations.

A lot of anime manage to get a new season right after the season finale but unfortunately, Parallel World Pharmacy wasn’t one of them.

Production Studios consider various financial and commercial metrics before announcing a renewal and it is possible to speculate whether an anime will get a new season or not by carefully evaluating these three factors:

I have used the same method for Eminence in Shadow, Takagi-san and World Trigger and so far it has proven to work.
So now we will examine these factors to see if My Isekai Life anime will get a sequel or not.
Is there enough source material available for My Isekai Life Season 2?
My Isekai Life anime is based on the light novel series written by Shinkoshoto with illustrations drawn by Huuka Kazabana.
It first started publication on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō (Let’s Become Novelist) in October 2017.
It was later acquired by SB Creative who published the series in physical form with illustrations.
The first volume in the novel series was released on May 15, 2018, and the latest issue came out on September 14, 2022.
A total of 12 volumes have been released so far, and the light novel is still ongoing.
The first season of the anime covered 3 volumes out of 12 volumes leaving us behind with 9 volumes of content which is more than enough material to create not only one but two more anime seasons.
Conclusion: Currently, there are 9 volumes of source material available to adapt, which is good news since the series has more than enough material for Studio Diomedéa to start working on a new season right away.
Moreover, the series is still ongoing with a consistent release of new volumes, so that’s a big plus for getting a sequel.
Also, this shows that the production committee considers “My Isekai Life” as a long-term investment by adapting only three volumes over 12 episodes and maintaining a perfect pace, much like what “Eminence in Shadow”, “Camping Cooking in another world” and “Magical Revolution” did.
Rather than treating it as just a promotional tool for the novel and trying to adapt too much material resulting in an uneven story build-up, lack of character development, and inconsistent pacing, as seen in the “Genius Prince” anime.
This indicates that the production team was already considering renewing the second season during its planning stage. Now, the only thing that stands in its way is its profitability.
If the anime manages to make its money back, it will almost certainly be renewed within the next year or so. Let’s see how the series is performing in terms of profitability.
Light Novel Sales and Profitability
Before we proceed, it’s important to understand that most of the anime we watch today are created primarily to promote and boost the sales of its source material (in this case light novel).
Sales from the light novel and related merchandise are the main source of income for the producers, while revenue from advertising fees, online streaming licensing, and Blu-ray sales are considered secondary
Typically, a 12-episode anime television series costs around $3,000,000 to produce.
Therefore, an anime has to make back this much money through merchandise sales and licensing fees to ensure a new season from the producers.
As of February 2023, the circulation count for My Isekai Life had reached 7 million copies across the light novel, manga, and digital downloads.
The anime has had a significant impact on the sales of the series, resulting in a major boost. Prior to the anime’s premiere in May 2022, the series had a cumulative total of 5 million copies in circulation.
However, as of February 2023, the number had increased to 7 million copies, an impressive jump of 2 million within just ten months.
Conclusion: typically, a light novel with 500,000 to 1,000,000 copies in circulation is considered successful, so the series is performing remarkably well in that regard.
Blu-ray/ DVDs and other Merchandise sales
While Blu-rays and DVDs are no longer key players in determining anime success as they used to be back in the 2010s, they are still a great tool to understand a show’s popularity among the general Japanese audience. In general, if an anime’s disc sales are over 3,000, a second season would be promising.
As for My Isekai Life, the situation doesn’t look good.
The sales numbers for the first Blu-ray/DVD volume of My Isekai Life were so low that it failed to even make it to Oricon’s Top 20 general category, selling below 1,000 copies.

In 2021, it managed to secure a place in the Top 10 of the Best Selling Shounen Manga Ranking for the year ranking between two giants Attack on Titan and Chainsaw Man.
Moreover, it is part of a larger franchise called “Kenja Saga” which consists of three isekai novels written by Shinkou Shotou and includes “The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest Light” and “Isekai Tensei de Kenja ni Natte Boukensha Seikatsu” which in total has 10 million copies in circulation.
The anime’s debut in Japan was highly anticipated, and it quickly became one of the most-watched shows of the Summer 2022 season. It ranked top on several streaming websites, including the D-Anime Store and AbemaTV and was one of the most-talked shows on the internet.
On NicoVideo, Japan’s largest hosting site which is their version of YouTube, the premiere episode received over 103k views and 7k comments.
Overseas popularity
The debut run of Tensei Kenja no Isekai Life anime received a positive reception from fans in the West, with many viewers and critics praising it for being even better than the source material in some aspects.
The series has garnered positive reviews from viewers around the world, earning a decent score of 6.3 on MyAnimeList and ranking at #1253 in popularity, with more than 174k members in its MAL group.
It has also received an average score of 6.1/10 on IMDb and a 61% approval rating on AniList. This shows that the show’s popularity is very high even though it is a young series.
In conclusion, the series gained a significant following in both Japan and the West and generated a ton of revenue from merchandise sales, indicating that it has a strong and loyal fanbase.
With enough source material and the potential to make even more sales, it is inevitable that My Isekai Life Season 2 will be announced soon. It is no longer a question of if it will get a new season, but when it will get a new season.
