Yes you heard it right. An Act-Age anime adaption based on Tatsuya Matsuki and Shiro Usazaki’s manga has been greenlit. The news came through trusted news provider @Spytrue where he tweeted,”Act-Age will be receiving an anime adaptation.”
Act-Age anime is something fans have been talking for a long time. The series first appeared in the Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in January 2020 and since then has been collected into 10 compiled volumes. It is one of the most anticipated anime in japan which ranked sixth in a poll conducted by AnimeJapan 2020.
More information will be available on June 1 when the 26th issue of Weekly Shonen Magazine will be published. Additional details such as release date, cast and staff are also expected to be announced.
For those who don’t know Act-Age’s story follows Kei Yonagi, a high school girl who strives to become an actress. She lives with her two younger siblings, after their father left them and their mother died. Kei has an extreme talent for method acting, to the point where she loses track of reality while acting. At an audition, some speculate that acting of this intensity could be self-destructive, and cite that as a reason for not accepting her. However, Kei catches the eye of the highly acclaimed director Sumiji Kuroyama, who steps forward with the intent of bringing out her full potential.
