After the long wait, The Police in Pod (Hakozume: Koban Joshi no Gyakushuu) anime is close to its premiere and fans are very excited. For those who don’t know “Police in Pod” anime is an adaptation of award-winning manga of the same name written by Miko Yasu. The anime adaptation was last year and it was revealed that the legendary animation studio Madhouse will animate the series. Since then the manga readers have been eagerly waiting to see their favourite characters on their silver screens.
Yozu Sato is leading the production at Madhouse as the director with Ryunosuke Kingetsu as the scriptwriter. Kei Tsuchiya is designing the characters, and Nobuaki Nobusawa is providing the music. Riko Azuna is performing the opening theme “Shiranakya” (I Gotta Know), while Nonoc is performing the ending theme “Change”.
Episode 1 of Police in Pod is scheduled to release on January 5, 2022, at 11:30 am JST and is confirmed to run for 13 episodes with a new one releasing every Wednesday.
Plot Of The Anime:
Female police officer Kawai had enough of a career she wasn’t even that into and was about to hand in her registration, when the unthinkable happened, she met the new, female director of her station! And after spending a little time with this gorgeous role model, Kawai realizes that maybe she isn’t quite done being an officer after all.

Where Can I Watch Police in Pod anime online? Is is available on Crunchyroll, Funimation and Netflix?
Viewers in the US, Canada, Mexico, and Brazil can stream the new episodes of Police in Pod on the Official streaming site Funimation. The Premium Subscribers will get to watch episodes on the day of the Japanese release, whereas the free users will have to wait until next week to watch the premiere episodes
Meanwhile, Muse Communications announced they will stream the show in South Asia. Wakanim has licensed the show in France, Russia, Denmark with localised subtitles.
The episodes will first air on Japanese local TV networks and then will arrive on the above-mentioned streaming platforms within 1-3 hours. Here is when the same episode will release in your region:
- Pacific Time: 9:00 AM PDT
- Central Time: 11:00 PM CDT
- Eastern Time: 12:00 PM EDT
- British Time: 5:00 PM BST
Note that the above release time for Funimation is based on the platform’s usual release pattern. Anyway, don’t fret because we’ll update this post if it isn’t a simulcast release and the release time is different.
How Many Episodes season 1 of Police in Pod will have?
It has been announced that the “Police in Pod” anime will have a total of 13 episodes and which will air from January 5, 2022, to March 30, 2022. A new episode will be released every week on Wednesday at 11:30 PM JST.
Police in Pod English Dub Release
At the moment of writing, there is no official confirmation when the English dub for Police in Pod will release. However taking into account the popularity of the series in English speaking countries and the fact that Funimation has licensed the show, which lately has been producing dubs for almost all of their popular shows such as Rent-A-Girlfriend, I am a Spider so what; it is relatively safe to say that an English dub will be announced very soon.
Will The Anime Come to Netflix?
If we talk about it coming to Netflix, that’s not gonna happen, at least for quite a while. The series might get available on Netflix after the season has concluded.

Written and illustrated by Miko Yasu is a workplace comedy manga serialised in Kodansha’s Morning Magazine since November 2017. The manga is the winner of the 66th Shogakukan Manga Award in the general category in 2021 and was adapted as a TV drama series in September 2021 which aired on Nippon TV.
